Pokemon. Anime Or cartoons? or maybe both?

We all remember waking up on Saturdays and going to watch cartoons right? which was your favorite? I know Pokemon was a favorite to many but some also said it was an anime. new controversy

says that its cartoons. some say its anime. do you agree? but others say its actually both? what do you think?
